Baking and Buying for Xmas?

When do you begin with baking and buying for Xmas?

I just made little soaps with a vanille flavor together with my son, so that he has his own Xmas gifts. But he is so excited and want to give away the presents right now....

I have started by soaking the fruit for 6 Christmas cakes and 6 Christmas puddings for us, family and friends. I make these every year. I will actually start baking them this weekend - so they are all done and posted by the first week in December.

But I don't bake any biscuits (cookies), truffles etc until two days before Christmas. I do make my Fruit mince pies about 5 days ahead of time and store them in an air tight container.

Last year, as the idea of a friend became handy, I started baking after Thanksgiving Day and freeing cookies/bars/breads. Two days before Christmas Day I bake the pies and mix up the fudge! :flake:

I have been working on some of my crafts for some time and getting my shoe boxes ready for Operation Christmas Child!

..Buying, starting next weekend! We actually bought some garland for the tree today and replacement flashing bulbs for the outdoor lights.

Baking - we don;t do too much because it's just ourselves and then 6-8 family after that and they all bring stuff already. We'll make cookies for ourselves and maybe fudge...

I shop all year long for Christmas gifts if I see something suitable at the right price then I buy it. I like to start Christmas cooking/baking in December but as of yet I haven't got going for this year.
