Thanks everyone for the warm welcome.
Lately I have set my ipod to shuffle mode and it seems like every three songs is a Christmas song. My kids and I just sing along.
I didn't buy much things at the after Christmas sales because our Target was practically empty (of decorations). I did however buy a new and BIGGER lighted snowman for outdoors. My DH loves it because it collapses and stores nicely. In regards to my leftover paper, ribbon, and tags, I donate them to my sis-in-law's school that she works at because they keep them for wrapping gifts for the kids in their community. She teaches at a low-income school where practically all the kids receive free or reduced lunch. It saves me the trouble of storing more stuff.

I just can't believe how tired I am. As I was updating the board and waiting for things to upload, I was dosing while sitting up. I guess I still have a lot more sleep to catch up on from the Christmas holidays.

Here I am back at my fave Christmas spot! I'm off work tomorrow before starting another 6 day week, and just had to drop by to catch up with all my CAYers! Most of my Christmas items are boxed back up for the year........just need them stored away in the garage/closets/etc. Sad.........it goes by so fastly when you are an adult that it feels like you blink, and it is gone. Happy to know our posting challenge continues into 2009!

I know this is a bit off for me, but with Christmas over I'm ready for Spring. I'm just not that thrilled with the cold temperature as I used to be. Perhaps I'm just having an off day or I'm just getting older.

No Mrs. Claus
I think it might have something to do with the constant cold. Usually when we get the snow amounts that we have been getting, we will get a break from the bitter cold on those days. Not happening so far this year. You can't enjoy outdoor winter activities for long when it is so frigid. Hopefully we will get our January thaw soon and everyone can defrost just a little.

Our weather has been very mild for January. All that's gonna change by this weekend, high temps are gonna be less than 20 degrees F. Brrrr. :gbhouse:

I've been watching some of the Christmas programs I recorded on my DVR. It'll take me quite a while to watch them all. :smilecc:

I think this will be the weekend to take down and put away all the Christmas stuff. I'm feeling a little sad about it, but I can always think and plan about next year. :D

Tonight will be our coldest night so far. I've been really lucky this year, and so far I've avoided getting the after Christmas blues. But this cold, dreary weather is really starting to get depressing.

Not much happening here the last few days, except that the oldest had the flu (24 hour - thank goodness). Dad stayed home from work to be with her and I was able to go and volunteer at the school.

I'm trying to figure out how to pack Christmas decorations before we actually have to do it on Sunday. I bought some special Christmas decoration containers - I already have some, but they were on sale again this year, so I thought it wise to grab some more for my ever-increasing decorations.

Hope everyone is staying warm/cool (depending on where you are on the globe). :D

I'm in a countdown phase.........4 days of work done, 4 days to go before a day off!

99% of my Christmas decorations are packed & put away now. The ones left? I can't figure out which box/closet they go in! LOL!

It is 80F here now............gives me the blues because I wait all year for 'winter' here. We're wearing shorts and tee shirts again -- oh, joy.

Missing that special spirit flowing through the Christmas season but keeping Christmas in my heart.

Hope all are well! :smilecc:

I have packed away the last of the Christmas lights and it is back to work for Dan and I on Monday - our Christmas break seemed to fly by and now we don't have holidays again until this Christmas.

I am still watching all my favourite Christmas DVDs, I just don't want to let the season go. I am also making Nigella Lawsons Festive ROcky Road again - it was such a hit with everyone at Christmas time. It has amaretti biscuits, tiny marshmallows, brazil nuts (chopped) and glace cherries (I add turkish delight because I just have to have that in rocky road). THen you just melt, 200g of good dark chocolate and 150g of milk chocoate and mix all together - a taste senstation but very rich, so you only have little bit at time.

I hope everyone is keeping well. It has been hot here in Canberra, Australia but I am enjoying the summer weather.

This morning I watched a Christmas episode of the old TV series The Brady Bunch. I haven't seen it in years so watching it was a real treat. :snowgirl:

I have only a few pillows, stuffed animals, garland and a wreaths left to pack away on Monday. The living room is clean.........I have tomorrow/Monday off and I plan to rest until next weekend. Having a little Christmas in hidden corners, keeps the joy of the holiday in my heart! :smilecc:

My cell phone quit working this weekend so I had to go to the wireless store and get a new one. I had lots of really great ringtones that I couldn't transfer so I just lost them all. I was still using some of my Christmas ringtones so now I'm kind of sad. But on the bright side, it will be fun looking for new ones. :D

Today is my second day back at work and I am miserable - I have decided that I am going to win the lottery so I can retire. Wouldn't that be nice.

I still have my Christmas snow globes in the lounge room (I just can't put them in a box, they are too beautiful) and I still have my red fairy lights on my bed head - DH liked them and said to leave them there :D

It does seem so far away but we still have lots to do this year:
January 26th Australia day
February 14th Valentines day
March 1st (No. 1 sons birthday)
April 10-13 Easter
April 25th ANZAC day
May 10th Mothers day
June 8th Queens Birthday celebrations
July 25th CHRISTMAS IN JULY
August 5th (No. 2 sons birthday)
August - the Grand Plan will start again for the Christmas lead up
September - nothing so far
October 5th Labour day
November 3rd Melbourne Cup day
December is time for Christmas.

Plus we have lots of birthdays, our wedding anniversary (June 17th) and I am sure other stuff will come up as well.
So I think the time will fly by

Today has been a super stessful day. So I had to check in here for a little Christmas pick-me-up. :smilecc:

The last few days we've had some internet connecting problems. Gotta love it.

We were going to take down the Christmas tree and decorations this past Sunday, but things kind of changed when we had car problems on Saturday. We needed to pick up our oldest from a sleepover in a neighbouring city too boot. They decided to come pick us up and we go over for dinner and do our Christmas exchange (which we had to postpone earlier). In the meantime, we had the van towed to the shop and the next day they phone and tell us they can't find anything wrong with it. Go figure.

All this to say I didn't get to go shopping Saturday, so we had to do it on Sunday and didn't get to take the decorations down.

I'm sounding long-winded here and I'm just writing it.
