2009 Plans & Notebooks

Postby Mrs.Claus » Wed Jan 14, 2009 1:21 pm

I know it may seem a bit early to start this thread, but I'm thinking it might be a good idea (for me at least) to make a year round notebook and then when Christmas comes along add stuff to it, or even make a separate one. One of my New Year's resolutions is to be more organized (thus I'll be able to have the home of my dreams - okay at least a neat and tidy one with less clutter).

I'm going to start out today, by going over my Christmas notebook. I'm going to tweak a bit more from what was working and also evaluate what happened and why I got stalled and stopped. Then I'll start the converting process and make it into a year round notebook/organizer and see what happens. This will probably take me a couple of days, but I'm starting today! :elf:

Do you have any plans about notebooks for this year or are you waiting till closer to the time when the big plans start?

Our on/off/change of location moving plans are distracting me at the moment. I have a very basic, simple planner in my general housekeeping binder. I want to expand it to include all holidays but can't decide how I want it to look.

Well, not like I don't have lots of time. Mind you, Valentine's Day is only 18 days away! Easter in only three months.

At this moment, I am considering not using a planner in 2009. My work schedule being what it is at the holidays mean I have to flex daily, and it is discouraging not to meet my goals. Maybe by Christmas in July I'll be inspired to try again. Maybe.

I started working on my notebook today. I want to turn it into an everyday notebook with a Christmas section. I actually went to the dollar store and bought a little day planner type book. I think I'll be more apt to use it rather than a big binder. I'm now going through all the pages again and picking out the ones I actually used last year and the ones I will probably never use (like the swap pages - I don't do swaps so I would never use them).

Anyone else thinking about theirs?

Its been mega stressful round our house for the past few weeks (hubby's business, which I'm sorry to say, isn't doing well. I think he'll have to go back to working for someone else), so I've not given anything Christmas oriented much thought.

However, I've done a little Spring clean of my housekeeping binder and now that the current storm has past, I want to add some things to my Holidays section. It needs...I dunno...some pizzaz.....I'm looking for inspiration so I was pleased to see the link for the Yahoo group. Might get some ideas.

I started the year with a Christmas notebook but we moved and that threw everything out of whack. I am going to attempt again this year and will probably start it this week.

I have decided to make my own version of the Grand Plan - one that suits us and our family.

I have bits and pieces together and can't wait until I have more time to spend on it. With Uni and work so busy again, I might need to wait until after next trimester Uni is finished (I am only doing 2 trimesters a year - the 3rd one is being taken off so I can enjoy the Christmas planning and lead up).

Will post more when it is closer to being done
