So glad Spring is here - except it feels more like Christmas is right around the corner. We're not getting the nice Spring temps yet.

Noel - am happy that your brother is back! :carolbells:

Christmas feels far away here in temperature, lack of foliage, and personal issues. BUT Christmas always comes because it is Jesus' birthday and I look forward to December! :snowwow:

Morning Christmas friends,

It is 9.07am, Friday 27th March here at the moment and I am trying to get myself organised to go to a client but I would much rather stay here and catch up.

I am missing the Christmas spirit and cheer at the moment (I think I have finally got the Christmas is over blues).. So all day yesterday I listened to Bing's White Christmas on my iPod and in the car. It made me feel so much better.

Oh and I still have a large red and white garland up in the dining room - Dan points to it all the time, saying are we leaving it there til next Christmas to which I tell him that I like it there and will leave it there forever. Plus I still have my snow globes and other Christmas trinkets still on display.

It's definitely Springtime here as the Spring thunderstorms have started. We had one roll through last night. Heavy rain and the most spectacular lightning I have ever seen. Expecting another tonight. It's been almost 70 degrees F today with snow forecast for tomorrow. Crazy weather.

Right now Easter planning has taken the place of Christmas. :smilecc:

On the news they had a segment on the economy and it was about U.S. retailers. It said that since the retailers are offering such deep discounts right now that it is a perfect time to stock up on birthday, anniversary, and yes...Buy Christmas presents. :shop: I have never heard anyone advise people to do their Christmas shopping in March. :opengifts: :treegifts:

Well, CandyKane, did they mention most families have atleast 2 people who have lost their jobs? Mine has 3 people............so we have no extra funds to shop. Walmart is doing very well ........ we all need bargains for necessities! I hope the true Christmas spirit emerges despite the difficult financial times! :singing:

Noel-I am truly sorry that your family is going through such a difficult time right now. These are hard times for all of us and no one is immune. I only mentioned this news story because I thought it was so strange that they were advocating Christmas shopping in March.

I'm glad that we all have this wonderful site where we can help each other keep our Christmas spirits up all year. :merrysanta: joyelf

Our weather forecast was right on. Lots of rain last night and snow showers off and on today. No accumulation cause it's been so warm. We watched A Muppet Christmas Carol this morning. :treewiggle:

This has been a very busy day of running errands and taking care of things for hubby's business. I had to stop by the post office and the post master reminded me that the postage prices are going up again in May. :| Guess it's going to cost a lot more to mail those Christmas cards.

This afternoon I did manage to take dd for a visit with my parents. My Mom bought her a new outfit and some Disney movies for part of her Easter gift. :smilecc:

March 31 2009---The last day of the month already.. It's raining again today so that makes for a long and dreary day. I woke up really early this morning and I could not go back to sleep. I was in the mood for a good Christmas movie so I watched 'One Magic Christmas'. :snowjump:

I stopped by the library today and I got "A Redbird Christmas' by Fannie Flagg. Can't wait to read it. I'm in need of a Christmas pick-me-up right now. :holly1:

Can you believe that Easter is so close now - just a few more days to go.

I think this year is going faster than the last year did. Christmas will be here before we know it.

This cooler weather is great. I am looking forward to winter (starts June 1)...

I just finished reading 'A Redbird Christmas'. I really enjoyed it. It has such an uplifting message.

Jodie-It's so strange to think about Winter starting June 1. That's when our summer really starts heating up here. 8-) :smilecc:

I saw a few pretty mini Easter trees in people's windows last week. Gave me some ideas for the same, but with a Christmas theme for this year.

It's unbelievable but we are supposed to be getting snow!!! I think the weather is just about a month off. Although it really does feel like Christmas weather not Spring. Don't get me wrong I like Winter, but I also like Spring, Summer, and Autumn too.

Not much happening with me these past few weeks, unless of course you count that the van has had to go in for repairs twice and it cost a small fortune, but not quite enough to consider buying a new vehicle. It's been very frustrating.

We are suppose to have snow tonight as well, I enjoy it, it gives me my one last taste of winter before we get into full blown spring and summer activities. Have already started getting things ready for Christmas though, started planning out my yard display's for this year, we moved and didn't do anything last year, so I am so excited to light up my yard this year.

I remember snow at Easter being common in Atlantic Canada. Its not exactly been balmy here in England either.
