Well it is definitely cooler here in Canberra - our mornings are down to 4C at the moment and the days are lovely at around 20C.

I love the cooler weather and I can't wait for the chestnuts to come in season - they should be in the shops any day now. I love roasted chestnuts with hot chocolate on a cold winter day - makes me think of White Christmas's...

We've had rain off and on all day with a chance of thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow. And the weather forecast for Easter Day is....RAIN! I really hope the forecast is wrong because we're having a big dinner at church Sunday followed by an egg hunt and games for the kids. I bought dd a beautiful new Easter dress for church and hubby's aunt made her a sweater and bonnet. I tried everything on her today and she is so precious. :angelsnow: I love this time of year. (Almost as much as I love Christmas) :smilecc:

Well it looks like our Easter is going to be cool and wet - nice weather. We can really use the rain and it is a good excuse to heat up the hot cross buns and have hot chocolate.

Today I tried out a new fudge recipe and I think it is going to make a great Christmas gift for friends who drop in over Christmas...

Have a great Easter everyone

Stopping by to wish everyone a joyful Easter and count down the days until next Christmas morn.

Life is so busy that I seldom have a moment or two for myself: so I miss each of you and look forward to my next visit. I have to take all the OT I can get now being the only one with an income.

Hugs!

I hope everyone had a great Easter. We have had heavy rains all day but it didn't damper our Spirits or our enjoyment of this wonderful day. Our church services were very good. DD had a blast at Sunday school. The kids played games and had so much fun. Since we couldn't go outside, they enjoyed an inside egg hunt. All the eggs were filled with candy and this made them all very happy. We also had a wonderful meal afterwards. The variety of food was very impressive. Afterwards we went to spend some time with my parents. :scene: Dd came home with lots of Easter toys.

I would really like to find some fun and creative Christmas gifts to make for her Sunday school classmates and teachers. :smilecc:

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter and hoping that Noel's DH can find a great job very soon, so she does not have to do so much OT...

Christmas seems very far away at Easter for me but Christmas in July is only 102 days away now, so that is something to look forward to and plan for.

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

Remember we couldn't have Easter if there were no Christmas! And there wouldn't be Christmas if there were no Easter.

Hope everyone has had a great day! I spent the weekend at the in-laws and things went well. We haven't seen them since the beginning of January so it was a good time.

I went shopping today and went to a few of the after-Easter sales. I found some decorations for next year and some 'gold' and 'silver' eggs to use for prize eggs. I also found a cd of music sung by the Easter Bunny. It's just too cute. And I found some bible themed color and activity books on clearance. They will make great Christmas gifts for dd's friends at church. :snowgirl:

I broke down had Christmas music playing all day today. It made me laugh how better I felt listening to my Christmas music. Hope everyone had a great Easter and has a good weekend this weekend.

Hi Christmas buddies! I've missed being at CAY so much!

I now have another job - PT - to help with expenses until DH has a new job. It is tough out there! He has a degree, and over 20 yrs experience, can't find a job!

Christmas remains in our hearts, even when we are sadly far away from CAY! Hugs with love! :snowwow:

Oh Noel that must be so hard - hoping and praying for you husband to find a great job, with great pay.

I have been playing Christmas carols all week - I think Easter just made it seem so far away and I wanted it to be closer.

The weather is really cooling down now - we have started using the ducted heating system to warm the house up of a night time...

I'm so excited to be at CAY for the 2nd day in a row to celebrate the Christmas spirit with all of you!!! I even added a Spring siggie!

Christmas seems far away but Christmas in July seems closer. Daddy passed away July 27 last year, so it is bittersweet this year for us. No Christmas decorations or meal......but a remembrance of Daddy's life. And that honors Christmas to me.

Tomorrow back to work bright and early and wishing each of you a lovely Spring-like week! HUGS! :flake:

Noel-I think it's wonderful that you can use Christmas in July as a special remembrance for your father. :holly1: And I love your new Spring siggie. :smilecc:

I found an article on a family who had grown tired of the consumerism of Christmas and have started a new set of rules for their Christmas gifts.
Every gift has to be handmade, second hand, re-gifted, consumable or an irristable bargain. This would be so much fun. :snowjump: I have a group of friends that this would work perfect for. I think I might mention it and see if we could use these "rules" this year. :smilecc:

Those Christmas rules were used by my family/extended family as a child. I grew up on a farm where profits follow nature and thrift is a tool of life. SO.........there may be less $ for people to spend this Christmas, but there is plenty of heart to craft gifts! I love it! :singing:

I can't believe everything I've done in the past few weeks. It seems school is taking up most of my time. Lots of extra stuff happening - Family Reading Night, Brass Rubbings, Field Trips, and of course laminating. I really miss you all here at Christmas All Year!

Noel hope all works out for you and your hubby. Praying for you guys.
