Coupon Savings

Postby CandyKane » Fri May 01, 2009 11:00 pm

I came up with a new way for me to save money for Christmas.

Even before this economic crunch we're in, I have always used coupons to save money on groceries and cleaning products. I decided if I'm going to go to all the trouble of managing and using coupons, I should keep track of my savings. So last week I set up a coupon savings box. At the end of every shopping trip I add up how much I've saved and put that amount in the box. I just started this last week and I already have over $18. I only use coupons for things I have to buy anyways so it really is saving. I thought I would keep saving all year and then use the money for Christmas. It would be so nice to have some extra money at Christmastime. It's kind of a crazy way to save money, but it works for me. :smilecc:

What an awesome idea!!!

I might just have to start doing that too - although I do tend to spend the extra money right away - I tend to have a few poor spending habits. lol

I counted my coupon savings money out this week and I had $147 dollars. I gave the money to my hubby so he could pick up some last minute gifts. This amount wasn't too bad, but I know that I can do much better. I'm going to restart this January 1st and really work at it. :smilecc:

It really is an awesome idea! We don't use many coupons, usually just try to find items on sale, but I'm going to take a serious look at it this year.
