I see we're under the 200 day mark! I didn't notice that until today. The countdown I always remember is October 1st to December 24th - 85 days til Christmas! :gbhouse:

The time is flying. Sometimes it's hard to tell when one day ends and another begins.

I set my dvr to record several Christmas shows. Think I'll save them to watch for Christmas in July! joyelf :wreath: :candle1:

This morning I woke up before the alarm and could not get back to sleep. So I thought I'd do a little housework while everyone slept. When I went outside to feed my cats I was immediately reminded of Fall by the cooler temps and the gentle breeze. :peekleaves2: Now I can't wait for Fall to get here. And I really can't wait for Christmas to get here. :smilecc:

There are no signs of Christmas in the desert. Even the $ stores are bare......but I did order a cute shelf-sitter elf from the Avon sale catalog!

Noel-When I read your post about signs of Christmas in the desert it reminded me of a book I have. It's a collection of classic Peanuts Christmas comics. It shows Snoopy's brother Spike who lives in the desert. He tries to put Christmas lights on a tumbleweed but it keeps blowing away. :lights:

Dd and I made some crafts for Father's Day today. I printed out some "Footprints" poems then we used some paint and her own little footprint to decorate them. They turned out so good. One of my craft books has a pattern for a "footprint" reindeer. I need to find it. It would make a perfect Christmas gift. :rudolph1: :rudolph: :reindeer2: :snowdeer:

8-) It's definetly summer here with a heat index of well over 100 degrees today. I'm using my thoughts of Christmas to help keep me cool. :smilecc:

I'm using my frosty memories of snow-covered, moonlit Christmas Eve nights to keep me cool this hot summer!

I've been watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music to give me the feeling of cool winter air. :scene: :smilecc: :snowwow:

Today is a busy day,,,,will be going to talk to a placement advisor about a position within a different company that would be more money than I am making now. Really nervous, in this economy you can't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Best of luck in the job search ksrjreed. Hope everything works out the way you want it to.

We have a busy day ahead and a super busy weekend. Hope to get a break long enough to take dd to see the movie "Up". It's looks like it will be a good one.

The heat and humidity is almost unbearable. Thanks for that wonderful description of Christmas Eve Noel. Just thinking about it helps me endure. :smilecc:

My brother is at the Great Wall in China and my sister is in Kuwait. I am here at home this beautiful Sunday. Thinking of Christmas long-ago with my Dad. Memories to treasure for a lifetime. Hope all of you are well! :scene:

:holly1: I spend many days thinking of Christmas's of the past with my family and how things have changed and it makes me really miss the ones that are gone, but I know I will always have my memories and that is the best gift they could have ever given me. :holly1:

We just got back from a mini vacation. The highlight was a trip to the waterpark. It was a wonderful break from this HOT weather. The heat and humidity is absolutely miserable.

Hope everyone had a Happy Father's Day. Our next big day will be dd's b-day and our July 4th celebration. I need to think of something special to do to mark Christmas in July! :smilecc:
