Getting yard work done before we get our streak of 90 degree days but on a happier note,,,,someone I know who works at the local Hobby Lobby told me they are only a few weeks from putting out their Christmas decorations for this year,,,,can't wait. :smilecc:

My best friend brought her kids over to visit today. Out of the blue, her 5 year old daughter started talking about Santa. :santa1: She told her not to worry about Santa right now cause there's still plenty of time until he comes. I told her it was okay cause I think about Santa :santa: and Christmas in June too. :smilecc:

Today was one of those very stressful days at work combined with fatigue. After receiving a 51.7% review of a conversation with a parent, I was almost in tears [the monitor does not DO.........just grades]. She used the guilt/shame invoking phrase "SHOULD HAVE". Then a coworker placed a reindeer  in a Santa suit on my monitor and my heart lit up with the Christmas joy! Now thats a 100% review!!!

My friends daughter has really got me thinking about Santa. :santa:This year I will be ordering a customized letter from packagefromsanta.com. I found this site from mymerrychristmas.com and it looks so cute. Also I would like to make sure Santa leaves his footprints for dd to find. I can't wait because Christmas with a 2 1/2 year old is gonna be a blast. :santadance:

Last night we heard a rumor that another one of our local businesses will be shutting down. We're praying that it's just a rumor. :angelpray: Things are already tight for alot of people.

Despite everything I am doing my best to make sure that we can have the brightest Christmas possible. :rabstar: :blinky1: :angelmerry:

What a shock to hear about the death of Michael Jackson. As a kid growing up in the 80's, his music was so important to me. The world is a little sadder now.

I have stayed busy all day and I swear I have more on my to-do list now than when I started. I don't know how that happens.

It's been so hot today. I'm looking forward to Fall. :peekleaves2: The Fall decor will be out in the stores right after July 4th. Then the Christmas decorations won't be far behind.

3 big celebrities have passed in the past couple of days. How sad.

I'm looking forward to fall as well CandyKane. I went to Michaels craft store the other day and they were opening boxes of fall floral items. I love that the craft stores are always early. :peekleaves2:

Also, we have the Hallmark ornament premier to look forward to in July. I don't always purchase, but we always stop by our local Hallmark store to look at the new Christmas ornaments.

I love the Hallmark Christmas ornaments. Every year I try and add at least one to my collection. Last year it was a cute little farm themed one. Can't wait to see what they have this year. :holly1:

Another hot one here today,,,I am hoping for some pop up thunderstorms to cool us down just a little bit. If no rain then after my appointments this morning its off to the in-laws to mow grass in the heat.

All I have to think about is six months from now I could be putting out salt and getting my snow shovel ready. I can't wait for it :snowwow:

I complained about the rain for so long and now we desperatly need some. We'll be shooting fireworks here at home next weekend and it always worries me when it's so dry.

I had to go grocery shopping today. While I was out I stopped by the florist and ordered the balloons for dd's b-day party. :balloon: I also stopped by the bakery and ordered a Princess cake for the party and cupcakes for the kids at church. While I was looking through their catalog I found the cutest Christmas cake. It's in the shape of a Yule Log. It really reminded me of the cakes in the Swiss Colony catalog. Just thinking about it makes me long for a good Christmas catalog.....and cake. :dinner: :D

I'm so excited that the first signs of Christmas are starting to pop up here and there. :smilecc:

We're getting ready to go out and watch a big fireworks display. Should be a lot of fun. :D

Just got back from mowing grass at my in-law,,,,,,can't wait for grass cutting to be done. July 4th will be here before we know it and at least my kids will be back in school before too long.

This Christmas, even more than last one, will be more homespun for my family. My DH and my sister are still out of work, despite degrees & experience. So we are planning a handmade Christmas!

Christmas in July will be extra simple because we are honoring my father's death last July. But it is always Christmas in our hearts. And we will cherish handmade gifts and the decorations we have with grateful hearts.

Mom is watching Wimbledon, my DH is asleep in the chair, my brother is still in China, and I am at CAY! I'm focused on getting us all through July with the least amount of sadness and greatness fondness of memories. And I'm wishing I had more Christmas excitement in my heart..........but I always have the true joy of Christmas.
