My Mom called yesterday and wanted me to go shopping with her. We stopped by a flea market and I found some really nice Fall decor items. My favorite is a vintage Watkins collector plate with children in a pumpkin patch. I also found hay bales and a apple barrel.

I am going to do the Christmas freeze dance idea they have. I also thought about having the girls do a Christmas musical chairs. If it rains we have tons of large pine cones (stored from last fall) they can paint and glitter glue. They make beautiful Christmas ornaments.

Today it was 115F, and QVC shot live here all day from a chi-chi golf course in Scottsdale. The host, was stunned at how hot it was! Did you any of you see the Kingman jewelry show with Jane? Live from the boiling center USA! LOL! So........it is hard to think Christmas when you keep theA/C low enough to pay the bill and you are still not comfortable! LOL!

We went to the mall on Saturday and the Salvation Army was collecting donations for Christmas in July. That's the first time I've ever seen that.

Stephanie, I have never seen them at the stores before the Christmas season either.
I guess with the hard times so many families are having they need to collect earlier. What a perfect time for them to do so, Christmas in July. I will be on the look out for these wonderful people later this week when I go into town.

I saw a business news program about the economy and how some think the worst is over and are giving rosy predictions. And then later I saw another program about the Salvation Army and other charities collecting for Christmas in July. What a contrast! Thank God for these wonderful people who see a need and are doing their best to help!

I think I've heard more about Christmas in July this year than I've ever heard in my life. I've been looking for something special to do to mark this day. And the Salvation Army story gave me my inspiration. I'm going to decorate a special charity jar and starting on July 25 I will proudly display it in my house. We can deposit our extra change or $$$ in it. We won't count it til Christmas. Then we can decide what to do with it...give it all to one specific charity or if it's enough to divide among some different ones. I think that's the best way that we could celebrate Christmas in July this year.

I have finally received some news that I have waited all summer on, my youngest who has autism is suppose to be starting regular school this year but since he has the mind of a two year old our beloved school district thought it best if he stayed out one more year and did another year of preschool, well my wife and myself have found a school in our area that is just for kids with autism, we can't believe it that he just might get to be in a school well he is just like everyone else, the only flaw is the school is a 40 minute drive, but it's worth it to know my son is in a school well the teachers understand him and are not going to leave him behind. With the news of the school having an opening I feel like I have already received my best Christmas present.

We're getting heavy rains and thunderstorms today. I'm staying in to catch up on some housework. I'm been trying to decide on a Christmas movie to watch this evening. I think maybe Prancer would be a good choice.

Well its good to be back again.I agree ive seen alot of christmas things more this year than any other.even commercials on t.v dollar general has a half price off on all christmas wrapping papper.i got a 4 roll pack for $1.50 and so mom went and got 2 for herself.by the time we left they were half way sold out.does anyone know if dollar tree has anything christmas up yet???

I have decided that the Hallmark Christmas ornament site is my second favourite site now (of course CAY is my number 1). There are so many great ornaments. I can't believe they have the Swedish chef from the Muppets. I played the sound for it 10 times. Hoops and YOYO always crack me up. I do love the Charlie Brown and Linus one though.

I just checked and this years Toronto Santa Claus Parade will be held Sunday November 15th. I can hardly wait!!
Christmas sure is feeling closer now!!

Received a call from the school today, they emailed me his school application and we will be going to an open house on Monday. Was cleaning out my bedroom closet and found one of my Christmas totes, and I had to look in it just to see what was in it. Christmas is getting closer and closer and I have seen a lot of long range winter reports that say we will have a good chance of a white Christmas this year. Let's hope so.

Our dollar general store still has lots of half price gift wrap left. I resist it every time I go in there. (Only because I have so much that I have stored from last year).

I was in the dollar tree a couple weeks ago and they had Christmas bags and tissue paper and a few small ceramics. No decorations yet but it won't be long.

I ordered the Rudolph and Clarice ceramic figure from Avon and it was delivered today. It's too cute and a wonderful addition to my Christmas collection.

Ksrjreed---It's been a few years since we had a White Christmas here. I love the way Christmas lights sparkle when they are reflected in the snow.

There is still no Christmas items on display in our stores, but then the temperature is over 110F. It's the same every summer..........people here just cant grasp celebrating in the July heat. But we are having a little celebration as we remember my Dad. Christmas always lifts the heart!

Noel, there are no stores around here with any Christmas items either. I enjoy looking online though.
Checking out all the Hallmark keepsake ornaments has really been fun for the kids and I.
We probably wont see any Christmas items at the dollar or department stores until late September at the earliest.

The only stores we have with holiday items are the local Hobby Lobby and we also have a small home decor store that keeps Christmas decor all year long.

The Christmas Village pieces that I bought for my Mom on ebay were delivered this morning so I took them to her. She was so excited. I'm so glad that I'm able to do little things to make her happy. She's where I get my deep love for Christmas from.
