We went shopping today and I bought a fall scented candle from Yankee Candle Company called "Be Thankful". I also bought an autumn candle ring from Michael's. I'm going to put out fall items tomorrow after I give the place a good cleaning. :peekleaves2:

We also stopped at the American Greetings store to look at the new Christmas ornaments. They were nice, but not as nice as the Hallmark ornaments in my opinion. It was nice though to browse some Christmas items. Also, Byron and I noticed that Michaels has cleared the shelf for the Christmas village items. They already have the prices up for them, they just have to add the items. Byron and I are going to check back in about two weeks. :holly1:

:sleephat: I had a dream last night that I went shopping and every store that I went to was decorated for Christmas. :sleephat: Then I went to the grocery store today and they had some small $1.oo Christmas items. :smilecc:

I'm getting ready to start my modified version of the Holiday Grand Plan. I'm really excited about it. I just feel so much better when I'm organized. And it will give me more time to relax and really enjoy Christmas. :D :snowman1: :santa: :rudolph1:

:holly1: Well, I got home in tie to watch the ending of Jingle All the Way on TBS tonight with the family. I have no idea why they are showing a coupleof Christmas flicks, but we were delighted! There's something about finding it on tv - even when you own the dvd! - that makes it special.

I'm in the mood to decorate for Autumn until I step outside in the 110F temps. This special season is lost in the desert, because it's still near 90 at Christmas time. Then in February we are back to 100F. It's still my dream to move IF I can ever retire. :flake:

Went to my family reunion yesterday, which I always enjoy, I only see most of those people twice a year, Christmas being the other time, it amazes me though every year there are fewer people there. Anyway, will be starting my Grand Plan today as well as watching Christmas movies today, watched some last Sunday and it just made the whole week better, lets hope for the same thing this week. :smilecc:

Today was a wonderfully cloudy and cool day with a high in the 60s. I had to wear a long sleeves to go out. I left the windows open for most of the day. I went ahead and cleaned up like I said I would and put out my fall decor. Mostly items for my candles. It just felt like fall today and that always gets me looking ahead towards Christmas.

:peekleaves2: Autumn makes me feel the same way, Stephanie! It's like the doorway to Christmas! I have to pretend its Autumn here -- tomorrow a whopping 111F scheduled - but I can place synthetic autumn leaves/decorations in the house! :leafjump:

I've just posted about this in the Organising and Planning section under Christmas Planners/Notebooks, but thought it worth a mention here. I've just finished my first blog post about this year's Christmas Notebook, when you have a minute please take a look and tell me what you think? Thanks :D Feel free to share your progress on the various Holiday Plans too (Organising & Planning.

lilnoelelf - not sure how you found time to come on the forum - 2 babies not even a year - that's quite a handful!! Do they nap near the same time?

Garage Sales can be a great place to find Christmas items. I'm going to have some at my sale - when we actually get around to having it - hopefully this weekend.

My already busy life is getting a little busier as I have taken on more responsibilites with our church children's program. We have been planning for our Fall Festival and our Christmas program. And this week we started plans for our "church store". The kids will be earning "bible bucks" for different things: good behavior, sharing, learning bible verses, etc. The store will be open weekly for them to use their bucks to buy toys, books, etc. In December we plan to stock a variety of items that the kids can purchase for siblings, Mom and Dad, grandparents, and friends to give for Christmas gifts. I think this is such a great idea. it should really help some of our families who are struggling right now. One of my friends will be using this same concept with her kids. The kids will earn "family bucks" and they can cash them in for various things like getting their favorite meal cooked one night or baking cookies with Mom. This should be so much fun.

We were out for the day on Thursday and some how we got round the topic of Christmas dinner. Hubby wanted to know if I wanted to go to a nice restaurant for one meal over the holidays. Which I said I'd love to. I know just the place. We've been there before and they have an excellent carvery. That lead to talk about whether to get a turkey crown or a whole bird for our at home meal. :dinner:

Hi eveyone it's great to be back lol and thanks for all the warm "welcome backs"

Mrs. C- lol the Boys keep my Busy! My Brother and sister in law work so I have my nefew from about 6 am to 7 pm lol I make the dr appointments on the same day for both boys to make it abit easyer on myself. Most folks think I have twins when they see the boys at Wal-mart or the Dr. Office LOL and then I have to explain that one is mine and the other is my nefew. I posted some new picture (ok taken in May!) of the babies and the famly on flickr. I know I posted some of them when they were first born but havn't got around to posting any more on here.

We (the kids DH DB and SIL) all sat down tonight and plained Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner for this year. With the list of food that is going to be cooked if anyone walks away hungrey it's their own fault lol
