I was checking out the Old Farmers Almanac online, two month prediction for our area.
It may be looking a little bit like Christmas around here later this month. They tell of the possibility of flurries at the end of this month, also at the beginning of and toward the middle of October.
Sometimes in October we will have flurries but I can't recall when it ever snowed in September.

I was at Sam's Club the yesterday and I overheard two women talking about how the couldn't believe we are only 4 months til Christmas, I had to think to myself for a moment that Christmas has never left me that I still have the feeling of Christmas day every year, it makes me feel good to know that I carry this feeling with me every day of the year.

Oh, MM, I am so jealous! We're still at 105F here! Flurries would definitely put me in a happy Christmas mood -- so enjoy!!!

The stores her are void of Christmas items, but there are a FEW autumn items at the dollar/craft stores. So it is coming!!!

I'm so excited. I got the JCPenney Christmas catalog today. 'Tis The Season!

I got my new teaching supplies for the preschool class at church today. I went with my friend to pick them up. When we got home we had to tear into all the boxes and see what great stuff was inside. It felt just like Christmas morning.

Well, the weather forecast is a bleak 109F with smoke from the California fires hazing the sky. You have to WORK at feeling Autumn in this town.......and I'm working on keeping the CAY Christmas SPirit!!

Today's mail brought the new Swiss Colony catalog. That means I got my 3 favorite Christmas catalogs in the mail this week. What a great week!

Well it is officially spring time here in Australia but it sure does not feel like it here in Canberra - still freezing cold. I live in hope that one year it will stay so cold that we at least have a cold Christmas... It has been known to snow in October and last year in November on the mountains about an hour away.

As cold as it is, all the spring flowers are poking their beautiful petals out for everyone to enjoy and my iceberg roses are literally covered with new growth - hopefully they will be covered in roses soon too.

We had a birthday dinner for my father-in-law tonight followed by delicious cake and ice cream. It was nice because we got to see some family that we haven't seen since last Christmas.

Getting in some last minute summer time fun before school starts on Tuesday. We went to Marineland again - 4th time this year (we got season's passes and it didn't cost much just $5 more added on to the ticket price).

We usually drive by the Falls when we go (Marineland is in Niagara Falls) and visit a park there we really like - Dufferin Islands. In the Winter they always have a Christmas light display (Winter Festival of Lights) and this weekend they had already put up some of their lights, only sad part is that they blocked off some of the islands.

My holiday weekend begins Sunday morning and I' so excited to have Labor Day off! Another day to rest!

I went online and ordered some Christmas catalogs -- for some reason I havent received any this year. I miss my catalogs!

Enjoying the last "offical" holiday of summer, have been making Christmas list the past couple of days, thinking about what gifts to get, my wife loves making sweets to give to people so we have been planning that as well. Christmas will be here before we know it, and I really can't wait.

my family was at my in laws last night eating ribs off the grill and we got talking about christmas and we decided that last year the three girls got to many presents so instead of gettingthem all a bunch of gifts my in laws would get them a large combined gift and a few smaller gifts so my girls are getting a Wii for christmas....yeah i guess i'm going to play it as well...just maybe

I bought a Wii last Christmas for our big family gift. My family really enjoys it and we even have friends over for Wii Sports tournaments. Good luck getting it away from the kids.

We love our Wii too!! There are some really awesome games out there and many of them are active. That is the one thing that really sold us on the Wii system - it's not just a sit and move your fingers kind of gaming - it involves your whole body.

Wii Sports Resort is on our family list for this Christmas. Crossing fingers that Santa will put it under the tree.

Well, at home in Indiana, the visual effects of Autumn are on display. Here in the hot valley dessert - its 108F. So........we had a quiet day indoors, eating popcorn, watched "The Christmas Cottage" [movie about my fave contemporary artistsw Thomas Kinkade} and ate cookies!

Noel I have never heard of the Christmas cottage. I wonder if they rent it at Blockbuster?

I sat yesterday and watched Home Alone 2 and Christmas Vacation just to get myself in the mood, the leaves are starting to show signs of changing here and with the weather we are having this week it will only hurry the process. Fall is knocking on the door here as I am looking forward to Christmas.

My girls have started to create their own songs using Christmas carol tunes - some of the things they don't think up - it's too funny!
