When Does your Christmas Tree get put up?

Mine usually goes up in December, but this year I am very eager to have it up sooner. I am curious as to when other people at CAY put up their tree.

growing up we always did it the friday or saturday after thanksgiving.

the last few years i've been doing it the weekend before thanksgiving. because i like to have my village up and tree up while i'm watching the macy's thanksgiving parade

Ours goes up as soon as Advent arrives. The pros of having an artificial tree.

Well our first tree goes up around the beginning of November. This one goes down in the family room.(MIL gave us her old one a few years back)
Our second tree which we put in the Living room.(DH bought this one on sale after Christmas a couple of years ago for me) So last year was the first time setting it up .I think I will bring it out around the middle or end of November.
Our third and final tree is real and we go cut it down around the middle of December. This one goes in the dining room.

When I was younger - we usually did it Christmas Eve or a couple days before.

On my own and having an artificial tree it's up the first Sunday of Advent and stays up till well into January.

Ah, that age old holiday dilemma! In my family the tradition is to decorate the day after Thanksgiving with Christmas tunes blaring in the background! YAY!

My DH's family puts the tree up Christmas Eve! They have a late night dinner instead of one on Christmas Day, and open presents that night.

Okay, it didn't take long even dating for DH to know I could NEVER wait til Christmas Eve to decorate! So...........the day after Turkey Day!

I think I would simply explode if I had to wait until Christmas Eve to decorate a tree.

I have decided that my tree will be going up on the first day of November!
It's sooner than usual, but this year I am too full of x-mas spirit to keep the tree and decorations in the basement for so long.

mistletoemisfit, I agree with you on that one...a bare naked tree would not stay that way in my house. I would probably start twitching whenever I looked at it and eventually cave and fill it with ornaments and what not.

We always watch the Toronto Santa Claus parade on tv, then put our tree up afterwards, its kind of like a tradition. The parade is in mid november usually.

Sometimes it's around Thanksgiving, sometimes it's in early December.
